What’s new in LoadRunner Cloud 2022.10

LoadRunner Cloud is a performance testing solution for web, mobile, GUI, SAP, Oracle and more. It includes cloud-hosted load generators, flexible licensing models, and global accessibility. All for one inclusive price.

As with all Micro Focus products though, LoadRunner Cloud has a strong development backlog. The latest release, LoadRunner Cloud 2022.10, includes some noteworthy additions…

LoadRunner Cloud 2022.10 – Release Highlights

Released in October 2022, LoadRunner Cloud 2022.10 has many new features and enhancements that you might not know about.

We’ve pulled out 3 of the most useful below:

  1. Chaos Testing With Gremlin
  2. Enhanced Dashboard and Report
  3. Load Test Distribution Templates

To see what else is included in this release, check out the link and video at the bottom of the page.

1. Chaos Testing With Gremlin

Chaos engineering helps to identify weaknesses in your infrastructure and applications before they become outages. It does this by introducing attacks or outages (disruption events) into a distributed computing system to test its resilience. With chaos engineering, you assess your business processes, while failures are deliberately introduced into the underlying architecture.

Previously introduced to LoadRunner Professional and LoadRunner Enterprise earlier this year.

For more information on chaos testing, check out our post: What is Chaos Engineering? (and Why You Need It).

Gremlin is the leading chaos testing platform and LoadRunner Cloud now supports the addition of Gremlin scenarios to your load tests.

2. Enhanced Dashboard and Report

LoadRunner Cloud’s Dashboard and Report features have always been way ahead of the curve. Whenever we have compared LoadRunner Cloud to other tools, the reporting features have been a significant differentiator in LoadRunner Cloud’s favour.

These already awesome features have just got even better. They have been updated with a new look and include a range of new capabilities:

  1. The new Dashboard’s View menu includes toggle buttons that let you quickly show or hide SLAs and Anomalies in all the Dashboard tab’s graphs.
  2. You can now edit graph titles in the Dashboard by clicking the editing icon.
  3. New icons are now available in the Dashboard metrics tree. To add a metric to a selected graph, just click its icon.
  4. The search functionality of the Report has been enhanced and now allows you to search all columns in all the Report’s tables.

To learn more about the new and improved functionality, visit the LoadRunner Cloud Dashboard and Report pages.

3. Load Test Distribution Templates

We’ve all spent time and effort configuring locations, distributions, and networks emulations. Only to then have to repeat the exact same process, with the same details at some time further down the line (maybe even later that day).

With LoadRunner Cloud, you now have the option to save these as a selectable template. These templates can then be used in any load test within the same project, by any member of the project team.
